Fallen Throne

These designs are based on the nine choirs of angels as proposed by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, and on the visions of Saint Hildegard of Bingen.
The design of the fallen Throne takes the main elements of the Throne’s body and invests them with a new meaning. First, the fallen Throne also shows a circular shape, as well as several curves in its wings. However, it is no longer a complete circle, indicating the brokenness of the demon.
In contrast to its angelic opposite, which radiates light into the surroundings, the fallen Throne’s movements are centred on itself and he is closed in on himself. It also gives it a more aggressive character, ready to pounce on a victim and engulf it. The animalistic form of the fallen Throne refers to one of the oldest forms of the demon, the dragon.
Finally, the texture of the form of the fallen Throne is reminiscent of smoke, which, together with the ribs that form the torso of the creature, convey the degradation of the demon.
