These designs are based on the nine choirs of angels as proposed by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, and on the visions of Saint Hildegard of Bingen.
The fallen Principality is a tyrannical creature that uses the community that has been placed in its charge as a source of nourishment. Because of this, the design emphasises the demon’s mouth to enhance its voracity. From the mouth hang two tentacles with which the fallen Principality can drag smaller creatures towards itself.
The demon’s body is suspended in the air by six legs. The legs follow the bone structure of what formerly would have been his legs, arms and wings. They are deformed and show only one finger on each hand and foot. The six legs also make reference to the folds in the shape of the Principality.
